‘Proud Guardian since 1852’

Brian Carrington’s photograph titled ‘Proud Guardian since 1852’ won the BIA Award for the best photo in the Architectural category at the National Independence Festival of Creative Arts (NIFCA) Photography Exhibition 2018.

The Central Bank of Barbados

In 2018, Khemal Whitehall's iconic details themed photograph titled, ‘The Central Bank of Barbados’ won the BIA Award for the best photo in the first ever social media Photography competition in honour of the BIA's 50th anniversary.

ClosingTime

Timothy Trotman's photograph titled ‘Closing Time’ won the BIA Award for the best photo in the Architectural category at the National Independence Festival of Creative Arts (NIFCA) Photography Exhibition 2012.

Steel Curves

Hugh Walker's photograph titled ‘Steel Curves’ won the BIA Award for the best photo in the Architectural category at the National Independence Festival of Creative Arts (NIFCA) Photography Exhibition 2010.

Seamless

The Barbados Institute of Architects Donation Awards

2009 - Donated $1,200 in books to the three top students completing the Associate Degree in Architecture at the Barbados Community College.
2009 - Donated $500 in Architectural Books to the Barbados Community College Library.
2009 - Donated $20,000 to the Sunshine Early Intervention Trust (a school for special needs children) through funds raised at the 2009 BIA Awards Ceremony & Gala.

2009 - BIA Architecture & Education award was given to Steve Devonish
2009 - BIA Architecture Community award was given to Erskine Rose and collected by Tyrone Mapp in his absence.
2009 - Architecture & Heritage award was given to David Spink and Bruce Jardine from Gillespie & Steel Associates Ltd. (GSA)
2009 - BIA Architecture & Environment Award was given to Studio Blue Architects Inc.
2009 - BIA Architectural Fellow Award went to Tyrone Mapp and Gladstone Barker
